                                                            TOPIC:  Complementary and Alternative Modalities in Midwifery Practice

    An add on course was conducted by Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Sree Anjaneya college of Nursing on 30-06-2025 from 11-1pm to sixth and seventh semester BSc Nursing students. The topic was complementary and alternative modalities in midwifery practice and the session was taken by Mrs. Meena K, Kerala Chapter secretary, SOMI and associate professor, College of Nursing, Thalassery.  

   The welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Roobiya KR, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. On this session she covers the historical perspectives and various complementary therapies like acupressure, acupuncture, aroma therapy, touch therapy, reflexology, yoga, TENS, hypnosis, hydrotherapy, herbal medicine, Chinese medicine, chiropractic care, osteopathy, homeopathy, music therapy, water birth and use of birth ball. The session covers the uses, procedure, advantages, disadvantages of these therapies.

   The session was very informative. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Ajuna, Lecturer, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. The certificate and memento was presented by Prof.Linitha KB, Academic coordinator, Sree Anjaneya college of Nursing. The session was ended at 1.00 pm.
